    Absorbent Gelling Material usually refers to the gel formed by sodium polyacrylate or potassium polyacrylate after absorbing water. Both gels are non-toxic, harmless and pollution-free, and are widely used in our daily life and industrial production.


    Applications

    Absorbent Gelling based on sodium polyacrylate can be used as a high-quality gel material for the production of Gel Ice Pack Bag.

    Absorbent Gelling based on potassium polyacrylate can be used as a water retaining agent to continuously provide water to plants in the soil (similar to building a “mini reservoir” in the soil).


    Other Uses of Sodium Polyacrylate

    In fact, most of the uses of sodium polyacrylate are before absorbing water (becoming a gel). For example, as a strong water-absorbing and water-locking material, sodium polyacrylate is widely used in diapers, sanitary napkins, cable water-blocking tapes, etc.

    In order to better cope with a wide variety of uses, sodium polyacrylate manufacturers will post-process the product for different uses to improve or reduce certain properties.

    For example:

    • In the use of diapers and sanitary napkins, the absorbent material will be more required to absorb physiological saline in an environment that simulates body pressure and shaking.
    • In the use of cable water blocking tape, sodium polyacrylate needs to absorb water and swell in the shortest time after contacting water to block the contact between rainwater and internal cables.
    • In the use of artificial snow, sodium polyacrylate needs to form a hydrogel with a snow-like appearance and feel after contacting water.
    • In the use of water gel beads, sodium polyacrylate needs to form a spherical and colorful hydrogel after contacting water.

    Other uses of Potassium Polyacrylate

    At present, Potassium Polyacrylate has not been found to have other uses besides being a plant water retainer.
